Our motto: "Adding an over-the-top breakfast to the BEST of every bed and breakfast we have ever visited."
Pat Daniels - With a history of traveling from one place to the next, Pat eventually landed in Richmond after a 31-year career in the telecommunications industry. She was given the choice of retiring in Richmond or relocating to D.C., so she bravely "retired" and in 1997 devoted 100% of her time to the renovation and restoration of the William Miller House. Pat married Mike, after a short courtship of only 16 years, in the parlor of the William Miller House on February 14, 2001 with then-Mayor Tim Kaine officiating. When not greeting guests and offering advice about what to see and do in Richmond, Pat enjoys walking the neighborhood, volunteering for many community causes, attending the Richmond Ballet or Symphony, decorating, antiquing, traveling, and gardening.
Mike Rohde - Mike also retired from corporate life in 1997 to focus on the restoration of the William Miller House Bed and Breakfast. Always a very technical person by vocation, he eagerly applied his technical aptitude to other hobbies like renovations, woodworking and cooking. In retirement, Mike and Pat have traveled extensively in Europe, always tasting and enjoying the cuisine of the countries visited and adapting entrees and desserts to breakfast dishes for the Inn. Mike has taken several cooking classes in France and scours the local markets for ingredients or ideas to bring home for his guests. His recipes have been published in several cookbooks, including Best Recipes from American Country Inns and Bed and Breakfasts, Sleep on It and The Bed and Breakfast Association of Virginia Cook Book, both first and second editions.
Morgan - is our newset member of the family. She is a 3-year old (2011 ) lhasa apso/dachshund mix?. She does not shed and has low dander making her the perfect greeter at the William Miler house. In any case we love her, so come back soon and meet Morgan!
