Fun on River Scheduled July 30 2011

The dragon boats are coming back to Rocketts Landing on Richmond’s James River.

Join the excitement July 30 at Rockett's Landing, 5000 Old Osborne Turnpike, Richmond, VA

Dragon boats are huge, decorated, megacanoes staffed by 20 synchronized paddlers (hopefully they are synchronized!), one drummer, and one steering person.  Races start at 8 AM and the dragon boats race 500 meters up the river. There’s entertainment, food vendors, all sorts of fun. The dragon boats are staffed by clubs from all over the midatlantic region, groups from businesses and corporations, sororities, fraternities, and just plain ole friends and last year 30 teams competed.

More Information and to sign up a team!  Bring a chair, sit on the banks of the James and watch the racers! Festival should end around 4 PM.
